Is the Wacom Bamboo Fun a suitable replacement for a tablet computer?
I am heading off to University next year, and I am heading into the BSci. I know that I will need to have a computer to organize my notes and diagrams, so a tablet is the obvious choice. However, I want to get a macbook, and there is no real tablet offered. So is a wacom bamboo side tablet easy enough to use everyday, for pure notewriting and not just touchups? Thanks everyone.

the bamboo has pressure sensitivity, which is a plus, and it comes with adobe photoshop elements for drawing and editing.
if you want to do a QUICK sketch, use mspaint.exe.
if you want to diagrams and charts (and export them as images, etc), make calendars, blah, get smartdraw or Dia (smartdraw is better).
I use notepad and programmer’s editors a LOT.
get yourself a programmer’s editor like notepad++ or emerald/crimson.
If you need an office package, there is always IBM Lotus Symphony (check out the beta edition, it’s compatible with Office 2007). I find that package to be the most compatible with microsoft Office documents by far than OpenOffice (which I offer). If you need productivity software I offer a large suite.
BTW, HP makes a tablet PC/laptop with a keyboard for $900. there are lots of tablet pc’s out there that have keyboards. some of them can be very expensive.
